UPDATE: Argentina #2

Don’t cry for us. Today we visited Eva Perón’s final resting place in Argentina’s poshest cemetery, the Recoleta, where Evita’s rich friends and neighbors are the only ones who could afford to be interred in this maze of fancy mausoleums and statuary. Attached is the Basilica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar, built by the Recollect monks for whom the neighborhood is named, and nearby is a gum tree of mythical size that must be seen to be believed.

A pleasant breakfast that, naturally, included cake, and a lunch that proved again to never eat where the tourists go.
