UPDATE: Argentina #11

It’s the last day of our South American adventure, and we will miss much of what Argentina has to offer. Great steak, fine wine, opera, tango, art and culture. For a final thrill, we brunched at the Café Tortoni, a tourist trap disguised as a Parisienne café, then walked across town to the National Congress building and plaza. We said our goodbyes to the excellent staff at the Palladio Hotel, our driver Marcelo, and our waistlines.

One final sampling of empanadas and alfajores, the national cookie treat featuring - drumroll please - dolce de leche or DDL as the people of BAires call it.

Farewell Buenos Aires. Until we meat again.
